Poffertjes were first seen at a fair in Amsterdam in 1746.
In the Netherlands, poffertjes hold a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors. They are commonly found at street fairs, holiday markets, and dedicated poffertjes stands.

Poffertjes carry the charm of European street food that’s been perfected over generations.
Unlike regular pancakes, poffertjes are made with a special yeast-infused batter and are cooked in a custom pan with small molds, giving them their puffed, fluffy shape.

Before moving to Florida, we lived near Cologne, just a short drive from the Dutch border.
Every year, as the Christmas season rolled in, we couldn’t wait to visit the holiday markets and treat ourselves to poffertjes, served warm with butter and powdered sugar, or sometimes with a little Nutella.
Standing in the crisp winter air, wrapped up in cozy scarves and gloves, enjoying a bite of those fresh, hot poffertjes—it was pure magic!

Fast forward to a sunny weekend on Anna Maria Island, my “Happy Place,” where we had breakfast in a quaint café with pastel-colored walls and a warm, welcoming vibe. After a delicious meal and surrounded by the beauty of turquoise waters and clear blue skies, inspiration hit: What if we could share our love for delicious treats at local markets?
Crêpes came to mind, but there are already plenty of crêpe stands around.

Then, it clicked—Poffertjes! Those little Dutch pancakes that brought us so much joy on those cold winter days in Germany.
And so, the idea for our poffertjes stand was born.
Now, we’re excited to bring these delightful bites to markets and events across Florida.

Sandra is a trained pediatric nurse who spent years working with newborns and new mothers in the hospital.
She later turned her passion for photography into Minibelle Photography, specializing in maternity and newborn portraits.
But her love for sweet treats started much earlier—back in her school days, she worked at an ice cream café, crafting delicious desserts. Now, she gets to combine her creativity and love for food with Sweet Mini Pancakes.

For Thomas, Sweet Mini Pancakes is a completely new adventure.
He’s spent years in the technology field, helping small and medium-sized businesses navigate the world of IT—a role he still enjoys today.
While the food industry is new territory for him, his problem-solving mindset and eye for efficiency help keep things running smoothly, both in tech and at our pancake stand.
